Speaking & Training

Due to the rapidly increasing number of older adults in this country, there is a critical shortage of social workers and other professionals trained in gerontology.

I am passionate about addressing this shortage and bring nearly 30 years of experience as a consultant, guest speaker, workshop leader and teacher to my work in the field of aging.

I’ve worked with corporate executives/teams, social work professionals, students and diverse general audiences around aging and other topics as described below.

  • Private Practice Tips and Techniques for Social Workers

  • Working with Older Adults guest lectures

  • Social Work with Older Adults (taught 14-week graduate

course at the University of Michigan for 6 years)

  • Dealing with Difficult People

  • Understanding and Working with “The Sandwich Generation”

  • The Five Things We Wish Our Aging Parents Would Do

  • How to Identify Signs of Depression in Older Adults

  • How to Cope w Holiday Depression

  • Sexuality and Aging

  • Careers in Aging

In addition to these topics, I plan on hosting many more workshops, retreats and private coaching sessions in the future perhaps including:

  • Aging skills lab

  • Mini-courses on aging and working with older adults

  • Caregiving strategies and support

  • Distance learning courses on aging

I look forward to working with you to design a format and topic to meet your needs. Please contact me for further information including my fee structure.
